Barry S. Metzger

CEO

Barry Metzger brings a powerful track record of growth and energy to brokersXpress. While groomed by one of the top Fortune 50 companies in the financial services industry, his background in consumer product manufacturing, procurement and distribution brings depth and breadth to his management experience. Earlier in his career, Barry was successful in increasing sales and reducing costs at two major manufacturing companies under the titles of the VP of Operations and President. Barry began his career in the world of financial services as a Financial Advisor with Morgan Stanley, working his way up to an operational capacity. He was quickly promoted to management level, working closely with senior staff to train Financial Advisors, sales managers and branch managers throughout the Midwest Region.

Barry received a Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He holds a BA from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. Barry has the following registrations: 7,24, 31,66, and Insurance.

Phillip Hoeh

Chief Compliance Officer

Phil has spent over 16 years in the securities industry with the majority of that time in Compliance and Supervisory roles. Phil started his career on the floors of the CBOT, CME and CBOE in 1991 and ultimately moved into Compliance and Management. Phil has spent the last 12 years in compliance as a Chief Compliance Officer and some of that time also as a Branch Manager, SROP and CROP. Phil was the Chief Compliance Officer/Branch Manager, at Man Financial (formerly E D & F Man International Inc.) from 1996 to 2003. In 2003 Phil moved to Allstate Financial Services where he was the Chief Compliance Officer for their retail broker-dealer, which had over 10,000 registered representatives throughout the United States.

Gary Martino

EVP, Chief Operating Officer

Gary Martino's broad range of experience provides brokersXpress with a solid foundation in trading, operations and compliance. Gary started his career in 1985 with Pacific Brokerage Services and played an integral part in establishing the company as an online brokerage pioneer and leader in online trading. As a member of the senior management team, Gary played a critical role in Pacific's acquisition by Mellon Bank and integration into Mellon's Dreyfus unit. Following the acquisition, he was appointed Senior Registered Options Principal of Dreyfus Brokerage Services in 1998, and was later named Trading Manager, overseeing its national trading operation.

Gary has served on several industry panels and committees and was recently elected to the FINRA District 2 Business Conduct Committee. Gary has the following registrations: Series 3, 4, 7, 8, 14, 24, and 63.

Thomas Stern

CFO and Cashier

Tom Stern's career in the brokerage industry provides brokersXpress with a solid foundation in operations, trading and risk management. As Senior Managing Director and COO of Regal Discount Securities, Tom played a critical role in growing Regal's business to nearly $1 billion in assets with over 60% of its daily trading activity in listed options. He functioned as COO of First Continental Trading, a JBO partner of First Options and later as President and COO of Resource Trading Group, a JBO partner of ING Securities. Tom was Senior Managing Director and COO of Securities Options Corp. for 17 years and was responsible for all aspects of clearing and operations management. Additionally, he teaches the New Member Orientation Class for the Options Institute.

Tom has been an options principal since 1989, but was an original CBOE floor member dating back to 1973. In addition, he has the following registrations in the securities industry: Series 4, 7, 24, 27, and 63.

Joel Triemstra

Recruiting Specialist

Joel Triemstra, Recruiting Specialist for brokersXpress, has over 20 years experience in the financial services industry. He began his career in the mid 80's as a registered rep and soon was managing a three state region for FN Investment Center a national bank brokerage firm. He has had extensive experience in new business development with two major life insurance companies ReliaStar Life Ins. Co. and Pacific Life Ins. Co. Joel also spent 4 years as a recruiter for LPL Financial a national independent brokerage firm helping registered reps and advisors go independent.
